Sometimes we feel like having a quick, delicious, refreshing and healthy salad. So we search online for salads and find the most complicated recipes ever that kill your appetite just by seeing the number of ingredients that you would probably never buy.
Now that I have ranted, here is what you need for this quick and easy salad:
- 1 avocado
- 1 apple
- half a lemon
IMPORTANT: Make sure the avocado is ripe and easy to cut. Green avocados are hard to cut and uneatable. A ripe avocado has an eggplant purple color and is firm but not mushy. And wash the apple thoroughly with lukewarm water to remove that wax that gives apples that artificial shine.
Dice the avocado as shown in the guide below and slice apple into cubes. I highly recommend using a Betty Crocker apple slicer to make beautiful and even sections of the apple and remove the core cleanly. You can watch this video to learn how to use an apple slicer.
Mix together the avocado and apple cubes in a bowl. No need to make a paste, keep both foods in cube form. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice onto the apples and avocados.
Try it. Its obviously healthy and surprisingly delicious. Pair it with a glass of fresh orange juice and make it a feast!
